Digital Twin

One of the Mobility Lab's focus areas is better use of data and digital twins.

What are Digital Twins

The City’s digital twin for mobility describes the traffic itself, traffic environment and related conditions and context.

Digital twin includes various data sources. It is not one system, but instead a constantly evolving combination of diverse data sources and information. It can be applied for diverse use cases. Many parties contribute in producing and updating the data in the digital twin. The data can be studied, refined and combined with different digital tools, creating added value to its users.

Mobility Lab facilitates the development and use of the digital twin for mobility, and showcases its concrete applications in the field of mobility.

A working paper describing and analysing digital twins in the mobility context can be downloaded as a pdf here.

To keep up-to-date with activities around developing digital twins for mobility, sign up for the mailing list. The mailing list is used not just for Mobility Lab Helsinki but also other projects working on digital twins related to mobility (e.g. LiiDi2).
